hundredths, thousandths, ten thousandths,
etc.
in order to use words, it is necessary to include
them in the linguistic supply.
Another issue with numbers is related to the pronunciation of ordinal numbers. It is known
that when ordinal numbers are represented
by numbers in writing, a hyphen is placed after such
numbers, and this hyphen is pronounced in the -(i)th style in pronunciation: 5th class, 6th row, 17
houses (fifth class,
sixth line, the seventeenth house).
We think that it is important to pay attention to such issues and introduce certain rules
during the development of linguistic support for this program so that the Uzbek text pronunciation
program can read the hyphen in ordinal numbers differently from the hyphen in even numbers and
even words.
Countable numbers are used together with counting words in our speech.
Some types of
calculation words are used in writing in abbreviated form.
1) Length measures: meter (m), kilometer (km), decimeter (dm), centimeter (cm), millimeter
(mm);
2) Surface measurement units: square kilometer (sq.km), square meter (sq.m), square
decimeter (sq.dm), square centimeter (sq.cm), hectare (ha), ar (a);
3) Weight measurement units: ton (t), centner (s), kilogram (kg), gram (g), milligram (mg);
4) Volume measurement units: cubic meter (cub.m), cubic decimeter (cub.dm),
cubic
centimeter (cubic cm), liter (l), hectoliter (gl);
5) Time measurement units: hour (s), minute (min.), second (sec.);
6) Units of measurement of memory capacity of electronic equipment: byte (b), megabyte
(mb), gigabyte (gb).
In order for the Uzbek text voicing program to read the counting words used in the text in a
shortened form along with the originally given number, a list of them in audio format is required to
be included in the software.
