4.2 Main problems in foreign trade
If we look at the main problems of the foreign trade is that distance, I believe,
usually foreign trade involves long distances. Distance between various countries is a
great difficulty in a foreign trade. Due to long distances, it becomes difficult to
establish close relationship between the buyer and the sellers. Moreover, many
countries put import and export restrictions either directly or by imposing high
customs duty and tariffs creating problems for conducting international trade. There
are also some barriers of it, tariff barriers, or taxes on imported goods; and non tariff
barriers. The non tariff barriers to trade include import quotas, embargoes,
buy-national regulations, and exchange controls. There are two types of problems of
foreign trade, for example: The first is internal or home or domestic trade. And the
second one is external or foreign or international trade. The major problems will be
poor quality image, high costs, unreliability, infrastructure bottlenecks, inadequacy of
trade information system, supply problems, faceless presence, uncertainties,
procedural complexities and institutional rigidity and so forth.
4.2.1 Trade barriers
The trade barrier is a government-imposed restraint on the flow of international
goods or services. these four main types of trade barriers include subsidies,
anti-dumping duties, regulatory barriers, and voluntary export restraints. Why

and workers within a country. This is referred to as protectionism. For example, tariffs,
quotas and embargoes make foreign goods more expensive and less available.
Regional agreements are one way to reduce these trade barriers. Other measures such
as the reduction of non-tariff barriers, and rationalization and harmonization of
regulations, also aim to facilitate trade.
