on A pril 9, 1336 in the villag e o f H ojailgor, n ear S hakhrisabz. H e w as strong and
handsom e. H e becam e a fam ous statesm an and g reat m ilitary leader o f the U zbek
people. H e spent all his life and activity to tight ag ain st eviland o ppression to finish
the battles betw een the knans and B eks and to establish a strong centralized state. H is
nam e w ell-know n not only in T uron but all ov er th e w orld.

N avoi w as a g reat poet, statesm an and the founder o f
U zbek literature. H e w as bom in H eart on 9th o f F ebruary in
1441. N avoi becam e a very fam ous poet. A lisher N avoi got a
very good education for those days. He knew’ all poetic forms.
N avoi w rote m ostly in T urkish and used persian very little.
N avoi w as w ell-know n as a literary' scholar. He supported poets,
scientists and a rtist’s. N a v o i’s
poem s in old U zbek w ere
collected into four parts, w hich, w ere called C hor-D evon. His poem s in Persian w ere
collected and called “ D evoni-F oni". H is m ost im portant w ork is the “ H am sa” five
poem s w ritten betw een 1483 and 1485.
A b d u rau f Fitrat takes an im portant place in U zbek literature as a poet and a
scientist a teacher and a w riter. H e w as bo m in 1886 in B ukhara in an educated
fam ily.
H e w rote a lot o f poem s, novels and plays. H e w rote text book on U zbek
literature and U zbek language.
T he o th er outstanding m an is A bu A li ibn Sina. H e w as the g reat th in k er and the "the
prince o f physicians” . Ibn S ina w as a man o f variuos interests and w onderful abilities.
H e had contributed to m edicine, philosophy, m athem atics,
poetry and many
o th er sciences. Ibn S ina had w ritten num erous w orks. A m ong his g reat w orks w e can
nam e the fam ous “ C anon on M edicine” . Ibn Sina had a w onderful pow er o f
observation.
He w as a m an o f encyclopedic know ledge and great practical experience an
attentive and w ise physician. H e had done very much into his 57 years.
M irzo U lugbek the grandson o f A m ir T em ur w as born in M arch 1394 in the
tow n o f Sultania, Iran. H e w as grow n up under the influence
o f astronom ers and
m athem atics. L ater he deeply acquired such subjects as A rabic, logic, m athem atics,
astronom y and built his ow n school o f astronom y betw een 1417-1427 in Sam arkand.

K horazm iy w as born in 783 in K horezm and grew up there. He w rote m ore than 20

w orks, but now only 10 o f them left. T hese w orks w ere d ev o ted to algebra,
arithm etic, g eography and astronom y. A l-K horezm iy w as the founder o f algebra.
