Article XVI — After the signing of this treaty of peace, the plenipotentiaries shall immediately, without mutual delay, send notices and necessary decrees to all places about the cessation of hostilities. This peace treaty, drawn up in two copies, signed by the plenipotentiaries of both parties, confirmed with their coats of arms and mutually given to each other, must be approved and ratified by all His Holiness the Emperor of Russia and His Holiness the Shah of Iran, and the texts of ratification signed by them shall be solemnized shall be amended by the attorneys of both parties within four months, or sooner if possible. Massacre at the Russian embassy in Iran
After the end of the war and the signing of the agreement, the anti-Russian atmosphere in Iran intensified. On February 11, 1829, an angry mob attacked the Russian embassy in Tehran and almost destroyed it. killed everyone. Alexander Griboyedov, Russia's new ambassador to Iran, was among those killed. Alexander Griboyedov was a famous Russian dramatist, in addition to actively participating in the signing of the Treaty of Turkmenchay. It was as a result of his efforts that the mass migration of Armenians living in Iran to Nakhchivan, Iravan and Karabakh regions of Northern Azerbaijan was organized.
