ABSTRACT
The article examines the features o f the development o f creativity offuture history teachers in the 
context o f higher education. The psychological and pedagogical conditions o f formation creative 
potential o f students. Heuristic methods o f organizing classes are analyzed and the expediency o f 
their application in the process o f professional training o f future teachers is substantiated.

INTRODUCTION
One o f the major shortcomings o f modem professional pedagogical education is its weak impact 
on the development o f die creative potential of future teachers, including history. An analysis of 
the activities o f teachers in modem higher education institutions shows that the level of 
pedagogical practice aimed at developing their creative abilities is insufficient. In the future 
professional and pedagogical activity of most teachers in the system o f creative work, 
stereotyped methods and techniques focused on the algorithmic actions o f students prevail. 
Therefore, one o f the most important tasks of pedagogical higher education institutions that train 
history teachers is to develop creativity in future teachers, increase their creative potential, 
preparation o f future teachers for the use o f creative elements in professional and pedagogical 
activities.
