Well-informed, educated, healthy youth is a powerful force, a bright future for our state.
Introduction In the Epoch of Revival of new era, great effort are being made to improve the national education system, to educate young people who are capable of managing innovative technologies. Along with the facilities related to the social system, modern educational institutions are also being built in rural places of our country. Currently, the construction works of preschool institutions, secondary schools and high educational centers, namely the new building of Turkmen State Pedagogical institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi, The International University of Business are underway in the country. The talented youth in Turkmenistan are closely supported by the state. Identifying intelligent youth, supporting and encouraging them, educating young people about citizenship, patriotism, spiritual and moral feelings, and raising legal culture are among the priority tasks of the government.
The title of my course paper is “The stylistic analysis of the novel “Piers Plowman” by William Langland”. The reason of choosing this theme as my course paper is that I love reading the Medieval English literature and wanted to study which stylistic devices William Langland used to convey the morality and faith to the readers.
The aim of my course paper is to give the complete stylistic analysis to the poem “Visions of Piers Plowman” and present it in one work.
The tasks of my course paper are:
To classify the stylistic devices and expressive means;
To define the stylistic devices and their use;
To find out the stylistic devices from the poem;
To analyze the functions and purposes of stylistic devices used in the poem;
To analyze form and writing style of “Piers Plowman”.
While writing my course paper I used such methods of investigation as the method of semantico-stylistic analysis to analyze the poem from stylistic point of view, the method of comparative analysis to compare the difference in views of scholars towards “The Piers Plowman” and quantitative method to summarize the total sum of usage of stylistic devices in the poem.
The importance of my course paper is that it presents the information conveying the special features of writing poetry in Medieval literature and the use of allegory in depicting the Christianity throughout the poem.
The theoretical values of my course paper are:
It finds out the different opinions of scholars and critics about the “Piers Plowman”;
It indicates towards the similarities and controversies of opinions of scholars towards this theme;
It studies the background of the author’s life and its influence to the writing style of his poem.
The practical values of my course paper are:
It helps to understand the peculiarities of Medieval English literature:
It can be useful for students to get the knowledge of using alliteration and allegory;
It can be applied in writing reference papers concerning with this theme or Middle English literature.
According to the structural point of view my course paper consists of introduction, three main chapters, conclusion the list of used literature and appendix.
