Subject: Name as appearing on the passport for travel to UAE
(Amended Guidelines from NAIC UAE, changes in red colour)
As per National Advance Information Center - UAE the following guideline has been implemented with
immediate effect for travel to UAE.
Any passport holder with a single name (word) either in surname or given name will not
be accepted by UAE immigration and the passenger will be considered as INAD.
Example:
if any passenger’s name on his /her passport
Given name
Praveen
Surname
-
or
Given name
-
Surname
Praveen
Then such a passenger will not be issued a visa and in case the visa was issued previously
then he will be INAD by immigration.
However
if any passenger has the following name in his passport, then this is acceptable
Given name
Praveen Kumar
Surname
-
or
Given name
-
Surname
Praveen Kumar
or
Given name
Praveen
Surname
Kumar
The above applies only to passengers with Visit visa/Visa on arrival/employment visa and
temporary visas and is not applicable to existing UAE Resident card holders.
Amended Guidelines
1. Passport having one name only - Visa issued with more than one name, Passenger
has Father’s or family name mentioned in the second page will be accepted.
2.
Passport has one name only, passenger eligible for VOA if the Father’s name or
family name mentioned in the second page will be accepted.
