The general views on the history of Azerbaijan (early XV-XVIII centuries)

In the 15th and 16th centuries, Garagoyunlu, Aghoyunlu and Safavid states were established in Azerbaijan. The end of the 16th century - the beginning of the 17th century was characterized with the change in the nature of the Safavid state. Main historical events of this period were recited in the works by prominent Azerbaijan historians Hasanbay Rumlu (1530/31– end of XVI) and Isgandar Munshi (1560/61–1634).

Isgandar Munshi followed the best traditions in the history of Azerbaijan and drove a number of innovations at the same time.
The book by Oruj Bayat (second half of the 16th century - beginning of the 17th century) also serves as an interesting example of the idea of Azerbaijan history (1604).

Some works written in the field of history belong to the XVIII century. They are anonymous works in Azerbaijani Turkish, "Tavarikh zaman-l Shah Abbas ibn Khudabende" (1711) and "Safavid kings" (1733).

Yesay Hassan Jalala's “A Brief History of the Albania” (1702–1722) should also be mentioned. Historical knowledge also occupies an important place in the written literature of the early XV-XVIII centuries. This statement is supported by the activities of Mirza Hajanshah Hagigi (1397–1467), Shah Ismail Khatai (1486–1524), Mohammad Fuzuli (1494–1556), Mohammad Amani (1536-1610), Fadai (XVII), Messihi (1580–1656), Saib Tabrizi (1601–1679), Govsa Tabrizi (XVII), Shakir Shirvani (XVIII), etc.

Historical knowledge is also reflected in the folk literature of this period. Gurbani (16th century) provides insight to Shah Ismail in his works. The epic "Koroghlu" describes, criticizes the movement of the Jalaris. Shah Abbas, as well as the events that took place during his period were also recited in the folk literature and evaluated from a historical point of view.

The works by Abbas Tufarganli, dozens of tales (“The tale of Dashdamir, “Three sisters”, and so on) are the real examples for it.
