Nazariy ma’lumotlar
HSRP - standart Cisco protokoli bo'lib, standart shlyuz sifatida ishlaydigan marshrutizatorlarning mavjudligini oshirish uchun mo'ljallangan. Protokol 1997 yilda RFC 2281 tavsiyanomasi asosida ishlab chiqilgan.
10.1 –rasm. HSRP protokolining ishlash prinsipi
HSRP protokoli ikkita oddiy marshrutizator uchun xostlar bilan bitta standart shlyuz sifatida vakillik qilish uchun virtual MAC va IP manzilidan foydalaniladi.
HSRP protokoli asosiy shlyuzni tanlov jarayonida bitta marshrutizator active router, boshqa marshrutizator esa standbay router sifatida belgilaydi. Ikkala active va standbay marshrutizatorlar bir-biri bilan xabar almashib turadilar, lekin faqat active marshrutizator paketlarni uzatadi va qabul qiladi. Activ router ishlayotganligini aniqlash uchun standbay router tomonidan davriy ravishda 224.0.0.2 UDP 1985 portdan foydalaniladi. Activ marshrutizatorda nosozlik aniqlansa standbay router asosiy Active router o’rnini egallaydi.

10.2 –rasm. HSRP asosidagi tarmoq topologiyasi
HSRP IPv6 xostlari uchun faqat virtual birinchi o'tishni ta'minlash uchun mo'ljallangan.
HSRP IPv6 guruhida HSRP guruh raqamidan olingan virtual MAC manzili va default bo'yicha HSRP virtual MAC manzilidan olingan virtual IPv6 link-local address mavjud. HSRP guruhi active bo'lganda, HSRP virtual IPv6 link-local adresi uchun davriy router yangilanishlarni yuboriladi. Guruh active holatdan chiqqanda oxirgi RA yuborilgandan so'ng, bu RAlar to'xtaydi.
