Q176. Describe a tactic that helps you to study better.
A. Sample Answer
I have tried many different
tactics to study better, from going to a library, to sitting at a park.
However, the best strategy that I have adopted for studying better
is by listening to music and
quizzing a friend who is learning the same thing. The first tactic is that listening to music helps to
keep all the other noise distractions away from me. By playing music, such as classical or techno, I
am able to drown out the noise pollution around me. There is nothing more distracting from my
studying than a constant sound of people eating, chewing gum, or talking. So, when music is played in
my headphones, I am able to focus more inventively on my lessons that need to be learned. The
second tactic is to quiz a friend who is studying the same material. There is a saying that when you
teach someone, you learn more. I hold this to be true. This is because
when you are explaining
something to somebody else, you are reviewing the material
for better understanding, and also
reinforcing it in your memory. So, the next time that
you have a big test coming up, try listening to
rhythmic music and quizzing a fellow friend.
