My favorite TV show is Modern Family, a show about three different American families. The
first reason I like the show so much is because it represents the changing family dynamic in the
United States. While one stereotypical American family is included, there is also a family consisting
of an older man with a divorced young Colombian wife and a family made up of two gay men and
their adopted Asian daughter. America is changing and this show does a good job of reflecting that
change. Furthermore, the show is funny. All day long I have to deal with stressful people and things.
When I go home at night, I don’t want to watch dramas with even more stressful people and things. I
want to laugh. Modern Family makes me laugh out loud through the majority of the episode due to the
witty one-liners and the ridiculous messes that the characters get themselves in that I can relate to.
Because the show is a good reflection of American society and also very comical, Modern Family is
my favorite TV show.

My favorite movie is a recent one, the Perks of Being a Wallflower. Firstly, the main actor of the
movie, Logan Lerman, is a phenomenal actor and attractive. Everything about his persona is perfect
for the role he is playing. He recites his lines with the perfect amount of awkwardness and craziness
that the role calls for. His facial expressions also match the caliber of his voice. They’re subtle yet
powerful at the same time. The fact that he is handsome only adds to his appeal in the movie.
Secondly, the movie does a pretty good job of describing what life in high school is like. No matter
what he did, Logan Lerman just couldn’t fit in with the majority of the high school population.
However, he does find some pretty amazing friends that have his back throughout the entire film. He
deals with a variety of typical high school situations, like dating, parties, football games, and
heartache. It also addresses some sensitive topics in a very mature manner. So, I would recommend
the Perks of Being a Wallflower due to the superb acting of Logan Lerman and the content of the film.
