has to mean something like not ignored in a new or novel way. If something is
“touted” or “promoted,” someone is trying to sell it, at least figuratively,

“Scrutinized” is tempting, because it could be regarded as the reverse of being
ignored, but it has no match and thus cannot be a correct answer. “Revered” is
similarly tempting, but again it does not have a match and so cannot be the
answer. “Subverted,” or undermined, is a good GRE vocabulary word, but it
