American drama. Women writers in the second half of the XXth century

The main material of the work is gathered from English and Russian linguist’s books on English literature and internet sources.
This present work contains illustrative pictures that help further one's understanding of the plays and the tragic events that take place within them. It also gives information on Women writers of American literature.
This course paper gives the readers an idea of how American literature was characterized after the second World War. It explains the importance of a person's social status in society and how it affected their way of living.
In this work there were used the following methods of linguistic analysis: word’s definitions analysis, contextual-situation and text analysis for revealing its significant place in the works of Eudora Alice Welty.
. The work consists of introduction, two chapters, conclusion and bibliography.
Introduction describes the theoretical value of the work. It also states the actuality of the work.
Chapter I. entitled American literature and its role in the world literature This chapter includes two paragraphs.
In the first paragraph we have discussed about the development of American literature and its periods. As we know American literature is not so old literature, because the country was discovered in the 15th century.
About the literature after the second World War we stopped in the the second paragraph of this Chapter.
American literature becomes increasingly more regional post 1920s – the center of American literature shifts from the East to the Midwest and the South. By mid-century, American literature was becoming increasingly more urban. World War II had enormous impact on American writing, as did many of the other events of mid and late twentieth-century America (explosion of the Atomic bomb in 1945, the emergence of television as a cultural force, the invention and growing dominance of computers, the McCarthyism of the 50s, the Civil Rights movement of the 50s and 60s, Korean and Vietnam wars, the feminist movement of the 60s and 70s)
