The IFRC supported National Societies around 
the world to strengthen their participation, 
positioning and links with governments through 
humanitarian advocacy. As a result, the IFRC pro-
vided key support on vaccination campaigns and

cinated with technical support and coordination 
from the IFRC with the Malaysian government’s 
national COVID-19 vaccination taskforce. In the 
Republic of Congo
, the Congolese Red Cross, 
with technical support from the IFRC, and 
funding support from the American Red Cross, 
organized performances with the Espace Culturel 
YARO community theatre through the concept 
“et si on parlait encore COVID-19 en langue des 
signes” (“If we also talk about COVID-19 in sign 
language”). The show’s actors were chosen 
from vulnerable people within the community 
to ensure that the message was carried by their 
peers and to make the programme sustainable 
in the future. In

, the Syrian Arab Red 
Crescent (SARC) volunteers and community 
health promoters enjoyed a high level of trust, 
and the community-based health and first aid 
(CBHFA) activities, including COVID-19, reached
