The flora of the Caucasus is well-known for an exclusive diversity and high levels of
endemism. Centuries-old economic activities of people have strongly altered plant flora of
the Caucasus. During the last years as a result of anthropogenic influences the ecosystem
has deteriorated, there was a threat of disappearance or subjection of serious genetic erosion
in region of set of plants, including endemic and rare plants. Therefore studying of wild-
growing, rare and disappearing decorative grassy plants is the most actual problem, and
their preservation is of great importance for the future generation and flora of Azerbaijan.
Such plants include the species of the genera Eremurus Bieb. and Gladiolus L.
