Abstract:
This article explores the linguoculturological potential of Russian 
parental constructions, their non-equivalence and main functions, in particular, in 
comparison with similar structures in other languages. It is proved that the functions 
of parenthetical constructions are diverse and depend on the specific situation of use, 
which determines the contextual environment of the given syntaxeme, the modal 
setting, and the stylistic characteristics of the text. There is no single classification of 
parentheses according to function. Nevertheless, as a result of linguoculturological 
analysis, new functionality of parental constructions is revealed: from style and text-
forming to metacommunicative.
