: This article provides an in-depth analysis of the concepts of technocracy and techno-
nationalism, and examines their interplay through a series of case studies. The theoretical framework of 
technocracy is explored, including its origins and evolution, and the challenges it poses to democratic 
governance. The article then explores the emergence of techno-nationalism as a related phenomenon,

highlighting the ways in which it intersects with technocracy to create new challenges and opportunities for 
policymakers. Through a range of case studies from around the world, the article explores the complex ways 
in which technocracy and techno-nationalism shape policy decisions and outcomes in a variety of contexts. 
Ultimately, the article argues that a more nuanced understanding of these concepts is essential for policymakers 
and scholars seeking to navigate the complex terrain of contemporary governance.
