Introduction
It has become evident that the specialists of the 21st century in Uzbekistan should never forget the words said by the first President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov:
When our people have acquired independence after a very long period of time, when Uzbek people began determining their own way of development there existed lots of inner and outer threats aimed at overturning the newly born state, to disturb the peaceful life established in Uzbekistan. The Uzbek people stood steady in its fight for the better life, prosperity and bright future. The people understood that they must strengthen the independence gained and what hard obstacles were waiting us in further steps of the development.
Education, Training and upbringing the younger generation are the products of the consciousness and mind and they are the factors that determine its development. So without changing the system of education, without changing the mind of the people we can not change the society1.
The qualification paper deals with the study of the contextual - semantic functions of the nuclear sentence patterns in expanding the communicative intention of the speaker which presents a certain interest both for theoretical investigation and for practical usage. We intend to approve that many linguists have brought the invaluable contribution to studying various properties of the sentence patterns in expanding the communicative intention of the speaker (in more detail see L.S. Barkhudarov, M.Y. Blokh, G.G. Pocheptsov, A.I. Smirnitsky, Ch. Fillmore, W. Chafe, A. Khudyakov, B.V. Reznik, E.S. Kubrjakova, Ch. Hockett’ works and etc.), that has created necessary theoretical preconditions for describing the semantics of syntax. Also I looked through the works written by the scholars of our university like A Ismoilov, M. Iriskulov, A. Sadikov, T. Ikramov, M. Rasulova, A. Kuldashev, B. Juraev, I. Ibrogimhodjaev and T. Madrahimov.
The topicality of the investigation is expressed on the one hand by the profound interest in learning the sentence structure, on the other hand by giving a detailed analysis of different contextual - semantic functions of the nuclear sentence patterns in expanding the communicative intention of the speaker in different languages.
The aim of this research is based on a detailed study of the nuclear sentence patterns in English, and their structural organisation, also differences between their contextual - semantic functions.
According to this general aim the following particular tasks are put forward:
1. To review the linguistic literature on the problems of the sentence theory in Present Day Linguistics and the problem of semantics and semantic functions of the sentences in Present Day Syntax.
2. To survey the problem of the sentences as definite syntactic patterns conveying a thought and their functional aspects in Present Day English.
3. To study the role of the nuclear sentence patterns in expanding the communicative intention of the speaker in Present Day English.
4. To describe the contextual semantics of the nuclear sentence patterns in expanding the communicative intention of the speaker.
5. To reveal linguistic status of the sentence as the main syntactic unit performing the function of predication.
6. To reveal different types of the sentences based on patterning and ways of expanding the communicative intention of the speaker of the nuclear sentences.
7. To analyse the classification of the sentences, their contextual features and the importance of the semantic valency of nuclear sentence patterns in expressing the communicative intention of the speaker.
8. To review the importance of the grammar in assimilation of the language material studied and to work out simple methods of basic grammar to the elementary, intermediate and pre-intermediate levels.
The methods of investigation used in this research are as following: complex approach to the study of the nuclear sentence patterns in expanding the communicative intention of the speaker, including morphological, structural, distributional way of analysis of the English language unit.
The object of given investigation is the nuclear sentence patterns and the different structural types of the sentences with sentence patterns in expanding the communicative intention of the speaker.
The subject is the structural-semantic and functional-contextual features of the nuclear sentence patterns in expanding the communicative intention of the speaker used in different discourse.
