a big party, or when we organize a wedding party, they are always there to give a
helping hand. So, it is always a plus if you get on well with your neighbors.
2. Do you think people are familiar with their neighbors?
Well, it really depends on the place they are living. Most people who live in
the countryside or towns know their neighbors very well, cause, they often visit each
other as life is slower and people have time for their neighbors. Plus, public facilities
are also fewer in villages, for example, you go to a shop and the chances are you
may bump into the same people whenever you go there and you greet with them,
saying hi, and get to build a relationship with them. Having said that people who
live in the city center or in high rise buildings aren't that much familiar with their
neighbors, even they don’t know their next-door neighbors. They are inconsiderate
about each other's lives. They have their own lives and don’t visit each other’s that
frequently.
3. How can people improve their relationship with neighbors?
There are some possible ways to strengthen our bond with our neighbors.
To kick off,
engaging in much conversation with them would be an ideal choice.
Because we need that emotional support, we expect people to understand and listen
to us. So, they can open up their problems and this is natural. So, I'd say having a
heart to heart conversation is one of the possible ways to build strong
relationship with our neighbors. Additionally, by inviting them for a meal. They
can eat and talk along the way and get to know each other better. For example, if
you have new neighbors in your area, you can introduce yourself and invite for
dinner and then you will have chance to converse with each other.
4. Do u think people’s relationships with their neighbors today are the
same as they were in the past?
Well, I am not sure. Because I don't have any first-hand experience, or much
information about how people’s relationships were with neighbors in the past. But I
suppose, let's say a couple of decades ago, people used to know their neighbors
better and they used to have a get together frequently, they used to visit each other's
whereas now, it is not the case, mostly, in metropolitan areas. Maybe, the reason
behind this could be that nowadays people are unwilling to spread their personal
information. I mean this is mainly because they value their privacy and they are
highly prudent when it comes to talking to people.
5. W hat makes a good neighborhood to live in?
Well, the first idea that came to my mind is convenient location. It is the best
factor that contributes to make an area a better place to live in. Because people can
easily reach shops, schools, restaurants, healthcare centers. So that, they don't have
to waste their time and money.
Other than that
entertainm ent facilities can be
appealing for most people, for example after a long exhausting day, they can hang
out with their friends or take a stroll in beautiful gardens to relieve stress and
tension. So, these are the two factors that make a particular area a better place to
live in, which I can tell you off the top of my head.
