30 DAY READING CHALLENGE

Exponentially (adv) 
- in a way that becomes quicker and quicker as something that 
increases becomes larger.
Example: We are growing exponentially in resources, people, and financing.

Expatriate (n) 
- someone who does not live in their own country.
Example: A large community of expatriates has settled there.

Diversity (n) 
(C1) - the fact of many different types of things or people being 
included in something; the fact that there are many different ideas or opinions about 
something.
Example: Does television adequately reflect the ethnic and cultural diversity of the
country?
Example: There is a wide diversity of opinion on this question.

Complexity (n) 
(C2) - the state of having many parts and being difficult to 
understand or find an answer to.
Example: a problem o f great complexity

To think outside the box 
- to think imaginatively using new ideas instead of 
traditional or expected ideas.
Example: I am trying to think outside the box to make this event a success at any
cost this year.

Clash (n) 
(C2) - a fight or argument between people; a situation in which people’s 
opinions or qualities are very different from and opposed to each other:
Example: a clash o f opinions/loyalties/personalities.
Example: There were violent clashes between the police and demonstrators in the
city centre.
