START SIMPLE and USE

A portion of a class needs to be dedicated to introducing students
to What is a Graphic Organizer and how to create a graphic
organizer.
•
Before the class you should download pictures from the Internet of
different types of graphic organizers. No more than four.
•
Show the different types of Graphic Organizers to your students
from simple to complex
•
START WITH A SIMPLE TOPIC
- “My Family”
•
Break class into pairs. Each student in pair will create their own
family map.
•
Tell students to create their Graphic Organizers to show the
relationships in their family. See example below
•
Review the three examples of Graphic Organizers below.
