Historical places of Azerbaijan (The temple of Ateshgah) The temple of Ateshgah isone of the most interesting and unique historical monuments near Baki, fifteen kilometres from it. It is situated in the village of Surakhani, in the south-east end of Absheron Peninsula. It was built by migrants from Northern India. They paid money to the local rulers to build cells, prayer rooms, stables, and guest rooms. Today it attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world.
