2.2 The ways of forming collective nouns and their usage.
Nouns are divided into 4 groups according to their structure in Uzbek languages. They are:
1. Common
2. Complex
3. Compound
4. Collective
Common nouns are nouns which consist of only one root and do not take any suffixes, For example:
non - bread, cup - piyola.
uy - house, book - kitob.
Complex nouns are two or more nouns which get a strong stress. For example: Pedagigika universiteti - A university of pedagogy
Bosh vazir - A prime minister.
Compound nouns consist of 2 or more independent nouns and mean together. Some compound nouns can be common nouns in English language or vise versa. Example:
doska - blackboard,
qo'lqop - glove,
ota-ona - parents,
mother-in-low -qaynona
Some compund nouns have two parts in both English and Uzbek languages
Motherland - Ona vatan,
Snowman - Qorbobo,
Handkerchief - dastro'mol.
Collective nouns are common nouns in structure but they show group of nouns in meaning in both languages. For example:
guruh - group,
jamoa - team,
xalq - people,
taqinchoq - jewellery,
poda - herd.
They are only one words in form but they mean the group of nouns in their parts.
Collective nouns express plurality without getting plural suffixes.
For exaple: herd - poda .
It gathers more than 3 horses. If we use herds, it means that there are a lot of groups of herds.
Think of the words team, group, or flock- these are examples of collective nouns. Collective nouns are particular kinds of nouns in English, where groups of people, things, or objects are treated like one single entity; they are no longer individuals.

Collective Nouns Vs. Common Nouns
Many collective nouns, such as ‘crowd,’ are common nouns, which is why many confuse the two.
Generally speaking, nouns can be split into two broad categories; Common nouns and proper nouns. Collective nouns, however, are a collected group of something, generally treated as one.
What Are The Main Differences?
Collective Nouns:
Are usually treated as singular.

Plurаl vs. Singulаr Collеctive Nоuns with Exаmples
Every cоllеctive nоun is mаde up of a grоup of peоple, objеcts, or things but is trеated as оne. Which mаkes mаny people wоnder whethеr collеctive nоuns are plurаl or singulаr.
Collеctive nouns can bе singular or plurаl, depеnding on thе situаtion and how еach individuаl entity is sеen within thаt grоup.
Collеctive Nоuns as a Singulаr Grоup
Whеn we treаt a collеctive nоun as a singulаr entity, it’s bеcause we sеe thаt particulаr grоup acting, thinking, or dоing things the sаme way. Collеctive nouns аre most cоmmonly refеrred to as singulаr becаuse we see the grоup as a whоle.
In this cаse, we usе singulаr vеrbs and singulаr prоnouns to fоrm a sеntence with cоllective nоuns.
