came to the realization that intensive methods give students the joy of learning, communication and 
creativity, open up completely new perspectives, and provide students with practical mastery of a 
foreign language in a short time. 
The key idea of the humanistic approach was that the focus of education should not be on the teacher, 
as before, but on the student himself. 
The humanistic approach thus increased the significance of the student's personality, which, in turn, 
led to the need to develop alternative teaching methods. Among the non-standard methods that have 
arisen at this stage, one can note the use of physical actions, “community method” (community-based 
learning), neuro-linguistic programming, etc. 
Many of the new methods have been successfully tested in the long term, "survived" and continue to 
be used to this day Quite a natural result of the development methodology of teaching foreign 
languages in the context of the humanistic approach was the formation of culturological and 
problematic approaches. The culturological approach is aimed at a new look for that period 
professional competencies - intercultural competence. The key principles of this approach were the 
following: 
Verbal orientation of learning processes; 
Modeling situations of intercultural communication communication in the learning process; rational 
use of a foreign language. In contrast to the previously existing methods of teaching a foreign 
language, where the exercises were performed on the basis of traditional differentiation 
Aspects of the language system - phonetics, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, cultural 
Approach postulates a priori continuity 
Language and following the goal of establishing a successful 
Intercultural communication. 
The case method has become a new method of teaching a foreign language. is an integration and 
modification of (1) problem-based methodology, (2) intercultural learning and (3) immersion 
methodology. Case method (case study) involves problem solving based on real (domestic, economic, 
social and business) situations. Application of case methodology in the classroom represents one of the 
embodiments of the communicative approach to learning, since the solution case-tasks in any case 
leads to classroom communication, discussion, exchange of opinions, argumentation - these and other 
speech acts allow not only to develop the skill of constructing a correct foreign utterance, but also to 
learn how to choose the optimal speech strategy behavior. The case method is usually used in groups 
in which students already have a sufficient level of foreign language proficiency. Language; the case 
method cannot be considered universal and in itself it does not form a normative language skills 
Thus, the methodological toolkit modern teacher is extremely diverse and allows you to achieve all 
sorts of goals language learning. Careful selection, adaptation and the alternation of methods will 
allow the teacher to increase the motivation of students and increase the effectiveness of training. Of 
course, this vector pedagogical research and experimentation will be further developed - mainly in the 
context of the virtualization of education.
