B) Which is the present structure of these industries in Uzbekistan (number of factories, total turnover, etc.)?
Regarding the investment program of the Government of Uzbekistan on modernization and industrialization of the economy, the manufacturing industry in Uzbekistan in accordance with the resolution of the President “On measures to further develop industrial cooperation and expand production of high-demand products” state support measures are being implemented gradually, including the establishment of small industrial zones and the formation of sustainable demand for local producers through the public procurement system. According to that, now in Uzbekistan;
electrodes used in ovens,
fittings for pipes
graphite electrodes
straight pipelines for oil or gas pipelines
latun products (fittings, gas reducers, etc.)
carriages for products and luggage (for supermarkets, airports, bus stations, railway stations)
metal, enameled, household containers
metal furniture
corners for bathrooms and other household products are intended to produce.
In 2021, Uzbek enterprises produced industrial products worth approximately $20 billion, an increase of 8.5% compared to the same period in 2020. Moreover, the share of the metallurgical industry was 27.2%, which is 13% higher than in the corresponding period of 2020.
By the press service of the State Statistics Committee reports, there are
974 metallurgical enterprises in the Republic of Uzbekistan as of November 1, 2020 and around $6 billion worth of products were made by them. The physical volume index of the industry in January-October 2019 amounted to 104.3%. In particular:
Copper wire production 102.1%;
Aluminum wire production 104.8%;
Production of steel pipes with an outer diameter of not more than 406.4 mm, round section, welded, oil and gas increased by 124.9%.
The highest share in the total volume of products produced by enterprises of the metallurgical industry in the republic is 56.5% in Navoi region (by 30 metallurgical enterprises), 35.8% in Tashkent region (131), and 5.8% in Tashkent city (281).
