Early childhood and primary school teachers in Country A are trained at a teachers’ training
college. Students can gain access to the teacher training programme after completing at
least upper secondary education. The pre-service training programme for full-time students
has a duration of one year, and it includes two four-week periods where the student
teachers are placed within schools to shadow practicing teachers. The teacher training
programme is not offered by a university but prepares the candidate for entry in Bachelor
degree studies and/or the labour market.
