The mausoleum was gracefully decorated. The panel of the interior is decorated with greyish transparent onyx. The south-eastern panel of the interior is made of onyx new and its mine is in brought from Ural and Altay. The panel at north-western part is the original and the onyx was brought from Isfahan (Iran). The joints of onyx were decorated with greyish stones and snake-stones were used to make lines on the top of the panel.
There are hadiths and holy verses from Koran in Arabic Sools and Kufic inscriptions and one of them is “The king is the shade of Allah on earth”, so the inscriptions Muhammad and Allah on the surface of the interior walls.
The mausoleum is cruciform and there are four verandas at four sides there are stalactite décors at these parts and they are gilded.
The interior of the building redecorated and the crypts were settled on the surface of the mausoleum and surrounded with marble casements.
There are the inscriptions devoted to Timurids on the tombstones installed in the middle of the mausoleum. Among the tombstones, the greenish nephrite install on the tomb of Amir Temur attracts the attention.
When Mirzo Ulugbek defeated Mongol troops in 1425, he took two parts of nephrite stones.
These nephrites were carefully worked out and fixed one another and installed above the tomb of Amir Temur.
The falling rays of the sun penetrate through colorful window panes and casement and illuminate and make shine the interior of the mausoleum and at that time only you can see the real color of the nephrite.
In 1740, Iranian king Nadir Shah conquered the Bukhara khanate, at that time Samarkand belonged to Bukhara khanate. He ordered to take the gravestone of Amir Temur to Mashhad, but with the risk of being a miserable sinner, he ordered to replace the gravestone. On the way, the gravestone damaged and you can see the crack on the surface of it.
Holy verses from Koran and hadiths in suls script were written on the interior surface of the dome.
