Requirements for energy food sources. Global requirements for power supplies. Each ship shall have a backup power supply to power the radio equipment in the event of a major or emergency power outage during a distress. According to the requirements of the section "Electrical Equipment" specified in Section XI of the Rules
for the capacity of energy sources, construction and classification of ships, the reserve energy should be as follows:

  • Enough to feed radio equipment and other auxiliary equipment on ships built on February 1, 1995 and subsequent years for at least 1 hour;

  • sufficient to power radio equipment and other ancillary equipment on ships built before 1 February 1995 for at least 6 hours;

If rechargeable batteries are used as backup power sources, a separate charger must be provided to charge them for up to 10 hours to the minimum required capacity.
must have a loading device.

Ship emergency rescue equipments [1, 4, 5, 7, 12] Lecture plan:

    1. Radiolocation recievers RLR (SART)

    2. Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB)

    3. VHF bilateral 3-canal radio station (VHF)

    4. Requirements on emergency rescue equipments.

The radar respondent is a means of locating a ship in distress. The signals emitted by the radar transmitter in the event of an accident are displayed on the screen of the radar device in the form of a sequence of points located at equal distances from each other in the radial direction. Rescue vehicles must be equipped with RLR. Picture 1.

Picture 1.

When the RLC device is activated, it is in queue mode, it begins to emit at the same frequency as the pulse beam of the Radar falls on it at a frequency of 9.2… 9.5 GHz with a wavelength of 3 cm and appears as a sequence of dots on the Radar screen. Basic maintenance requirements for RLR:

  1. It must be possible to turn it on and off manually;

  2. There should be a waterproof cord;

  3. Must be resistant to damage when falling into the water from a height of 20 m.

  4. must be impermeable to water at a depth of 10 m for at least 5 minutes;

  5. have a visual and audio device to determine the mode of operation, the ship in distress must be sure that the RLR has been activated by Radar beam;

  6. The battery capacity must allow the RLR to operate in 96-hour standby mode and 8-hour radiation mode;

  7. The RLR should be clearly marked with a short operating instruction and battery life
