System advantages 1.
The gun string can be run in the hole without
primary explosives.
2.
Using the trigger charge-firing head in high
temperatures reduces the risk of premature
firing is exposed to the primary explosive, as
the detonation train is completed just prior to
firing. Limiting the exposure of the
detonator, increases the temperature rating of
the whole system.
3.
Optional upshift gun release allows
additional wireline perforations later in the
life of the well without pulling the
completion.
4.
Schlumberger 5-in hsd gun loaded with deep
penetrator charges assures maximum
productivity.
5.
A Schlumberger 5-in gun has fill proven low
detonation shock.
6.
An optional shock absorber minimizes on
impact on downhole pump.
4. Field Applications Agiba Petroleum Company is one of the first
Egyptian oil companies to apply the system of
perforating underbalance with a sucker rod pump
installation. This system has been applied for some
wells at Meleiha, Aman and Northeast Meleiha
fields. Figures 2 through 4 show comparisons
between the production performance of wells
perforated with TCP under balance technique and
other wells perforated with conventional
underbalance technique, when the compared wells
producing from the same reservoir.
The data represent six wells from three different oil
fields is selected. These fields include Meleiha (M),
Aman (A) and Northeast (NE). Two wells were
chosen from the same field and producing from the
same block with the same reservoir parameters. One
of these two wells was perforated using the TCP
system while the other one used conventional
perforation system. The selected wells and their
perforation systems are shown in Table 1 below:
