Ascorbate-glutathione cycle for scavenging H2O2 in bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) genotypes during drought stress and following recovery

amount in bread wheat
genotypes (Gobustan and Tale 38) at the wax ripening
stage of ontogenesis. C-control, D-drought, R-
rewatering. Means ± SD of three replicates. Results of
Student's t-test: *, **, *** – significance at the 0.01,
0.05, and 0.1 probability levels, respectively, ns – not
significant. FM – fresh mass.
The results of the study suggest that although
the drought disrupted the balance between the ROS
and antioxidant defense system, genotypes after the
rehydration have maintained recovering ability, but
the Gobustan variety exhibited more tolerance to
drought.
