THE 3 rd INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCES OF STUDENTS AND YOUNG RESEARCHERS dedicated to the 99
th
anniversary of the National Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev
269
measurement instruments, PID control, VFDs, and control valves were
reviewed. After studying various existing technologies and methods, variable
frequency drive was selected as the final control element.
The next stage in the project development included equipment selection
according to the requirements of the process. Chosen equipment are Radar
Level Transmitter 5300, EZ control valve – 667 actuator – DVC6000, DeltaV
Hardware and Software (Control Studio), and VFD M200.
Following that the configuration of the instruments were carried out and
function blocks were developed using the DeltaV software. Next, the blocks
were downloaded to the controller (DV S-series was used) and the system
was started. To ensure proper functioning of the system, it was tested several
times with different set point and disturbance values. During the final stages
of this project several output documents such as I/O list, BOM, Cause-and-
Effect diagram, electrical diagram, interconnection diagram, instrument index,
and P&ID were developed.
To conclude, the design of level control loop with variable frequency
drive has been accomplished. It has been implemented and tested at BHOS
Emerson test rig. Additionally, different documents have been prepared
including the instructions for the laboratory work of the upcoming years’
curriculum.
