Exploring the outdoors – whether you're walking, hiking, biking, swimming, or camping – can improve your mood and your self-esteem. Increased blood circulation to the brain, as well as the release of “happy” chemicals like serotonin and endorphins, help contribute to this increased sense of well-being.
What skills do people need to take part in adventurous activities?
I think there are only two skills required to take part in adventurous activities, a strong willpower and physical fitness. Physical fitness is a given, but a part of these games is also overcoming our fears and that is only possible through mental fortitude.
Why do young people like doing exciting things?
Because new experiences are thrilling and exciting. Older people have probably already done that, so they're not so excited by it. When you're young the thrilling bit trumps the worrying bit, because you don't have so much invested in relationships and family, so you don't worry so much.
