Animal experiments (rabbits) for cosmetic industry.
Aim: To evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of using animals (rabbits) in cosmetics testing.
The study is guided by the research questions written below:
Research Question 1: When did cosmetics begin using animal testing, why is this practice still in use in the twenty-first century, and what steps are being taken to stop it?
Research question 2: Is it necessary to test cosmetics on animals? Why Cosmetics Experimentation on Animals Is Bad ?
Introduction
According to Animal Testing Facts and Figures (2004), around 100,000 million animals each year are killed during animal testing. In the fields of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, animal testing is a topic of intense discussion. Estee Lauder is one of the many cosmetic companies that have started while some stick to their principles and distance themselves from the practice (Estee Lauder, 2019).
When determining if a product is fit for human consumption, some people believe that animal testing is a rapid and reliable method. Nevertheless, others think that it is unnecessary because there are other ways to evaluate items. Consumers are interested in sustainability, according to research (Sheehan & Lee, 2014).
