Shakespeare Insult Kit

  • In groups of 4-5, come up with insults by using a word from Column 1, another from Column 2, and a final one from Column 3. Together they will form an insult similar to the ones used in Shakespeare’s time. Write your insults on the index card provided.

  • Be as creative and insulting as you can possibly be. Dish out your insults to individuals in your group. Don’t be shy about it; really let that person have it. Chances are that person will not even know what you’re saying (even though you will… maybe).

  • Once you have exhausted yourself insulting others, take time with your group members to come up with 5 top insults. Choose a volunteer to share them with the rest of the class.

  • Finally, you will find out exactly what your insults really mean. Who says Shakespeare isn’t fun?
