Activity 2a. Look, listen and match.

Objective: to enable pupils listen holidays and match.
STEP 1: Check the pupils’ knowledge of the order of the holidays by asking if there is anybody who can say the holidays in order in their mother tongue. Ask a pupil to say them. When s/he finishes, ask some more pupils to do the same.
STEP 2: Ask the pupils to open their Workbooks and look at the holidays. Explain that the order of the holidays in English is just the same as in the mother tongue: it also begins with New Year.

Activity 2b. Look, read and match.
My birthday month has two ‘’u’’ letters.
Answer: August.
My birthday month consist three letters.
Answer: May.
Objectives: to enable pupils to listen to check their answers; to practise the pronunciation of the new words.
After the pupils finish numbering the months on the calendar,you can play the DVD and ask them to check their answers.Play the DVD the second and the third times. The pupils listen and repeat after the DVD. While repeating, draw the pupils’ attention to the correct stress in months that have more than one syllable as shown in bold type in the DVD script.
A ctivity 3 Play “My birthday month”.
Optional Activity 4a Work in pairs. Play “I like my present”.
Objectives: write the your present and discrabe its colours.



Optional Activity 4c Draw and write.
Objectives: to look at the pictures and write the name of the present.

V. Post-activity
Optional Activity 5 Put the months in order.
Objectives: You see four words in each line. One word doesn’t go with the rest for some reason. You have to spot the odd one and highlight. There can be different reasons.
E.g.
tooth – finger- foot –face (Here tooth is odd; the three other words begin with an F!

Ask the pupils to open their Workbooks on Page 64 and look at the table in Homework
