SUB:EVS TOPIC: A TREAT FOR MOSQUITO

CONCEPT

1.Malaria is a communicable disease which is spread by

Female Anopheles mosquito.

2.Report of blood test to know whether the patient has malaria or not.

3.Larvae of mosquito swim in water.

4.Flies also spread diseases especially stomach problems.

6.Some diseases caused by mosquito bite are Dengue, chikungunya and malaria.

7.Some diseases caused due to flies are cholera and diarrhoea.

8.Scientist Ronald Ross found that mosquitoes spread malaria.

9.Anaemia is a difficiency disease due to lack of Haemoglobin or iron in the blood.

10.Medicine made from cinchona tree (Quinine)is used to cure malaria.

11.Ways to prevent breeding of mosquitoes:

a)Spray kerosene or DDT on stagnant water and drain pits near your house.

b)Cover the tanks with net.

c)Do not throw bottles and coconut shell in and around your house.

d)Keep the coolers Ac and flower pots clean and dry.

e)Use mosquito repellents like coils,mats and liquidators.

f)Put fish in near by ponds, They eat the larvae.

12.Symptoms of malaria:

a)High temperature and shievering

b)Body pain

c) Chattering of teeth

13)Symptoms of Anaemia

a.Face looks pale

b.Loss of appetite

c.Tiredness.

14.The minimum haemoglobin level required in the blood is 12gm/dl.

15.The food items which contain iron are cabbage ,beans,spinach,dark chocolate and nuts.

16.Malaria is more common in rainy season.

17.Mosquitoes get suitable environment for breeding during rainy season.

18.A component of blood due to which the blood appears red is known as haemoglobin.

19.Parasite is an organism which lives on or inside the body of a bigger and takes shelter and food from the body of the bigger organism.
