Syntesis And Characterisation of Zno Quantum Dots by Sol-Gel Method
In this study, zinc oxide (ZnO) quantum dots have been synthesized by using the sol-gel method which is one of the producing methods of nanostructures. To determine the morphology and composition of the synthesized structures Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) have been used. The crystal structures of the ZnO nanostructures were determined using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) patterns.
The optical characteristic of the ZnO quantum dots have been researched by using photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. During the investigation of the sensor characteristics of ZnO nanostructures and the research of adsorption kinetic, the method of Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) has been used. Apart from this, sensor characteristics of synthesized ZnO nanostructures, as a dependent upon the changes of electrical resistance, have been researched in the changing humidity circumstances.
Consequently, it is showed that the ZnO quantum dots synthesizing by using sol – gel method can be used as a potential humidity sensor.
