In order to receive the sensor values, the Arduino mega is being utilized. 
As a motor, DC Pump motor is
an open well type water pump. It works on 
12V DC supply. It is optimal for the usage. The suitable pipe is connected to 
the pump at inlet and the outlet. The motor is compact. Besides that, the 
motor can be controlled via the Arduino depending on the outputs of the 
sensors.
By installing Ethernet library files in the Arduino mega, the Ethernet 
shield is utilized for supplying the internet connections to the Arduino. It is 
constructed above the Arduino and it works with the help of Arduino supply. 
It has various features like memory card slot for the storage purpose, reset 
button, analog and digital pin slots for input and output process. It is used to 
send email notifications to the user and to notify the sensor values in the 
BLYNK app. 
The Image Processing technique has Raspberry Pi 3, memory card, 
USB web camera. USB WEB camera is for capturing the image of the plants 
for a given period of time. The Raspberry pi process the pixels in the images 
captured by the web camera to find whether the plants leaves are in healthy, 
partially infected or in totally infected condition. Then the condition of the 
plants/crops are send to the users’ email with the pictures captured. In image 
processing technique, OPEN CV and RASPBIAN OS is installed on the 
Raspberry pi 3. OPEN CV is an open source programming software that runs 
on the following operating systems: WINDOWS, LINUX, IOS, MACOS etc. It 
operates on the C, C++, PYTHON, MATLAB and some other programming 
languages. BLYNK android App is for monitoring the soil moisture and 
humidity sensor outputs and the status of the DC pump. The status of the 
pump is then sent to the user via Email which is done by Email widget on the 
app. With the help of both IOT and Image processing techniques, Smart 
Irrigation Systems can be installed in order to maintain a properly irrigated 
field.
