THE STUDY OF HUFF-N-PUFF UNCONVENTIONAL GAS ENHANCED OIL RECOVERY METHOD IN TIGHT OIL RESERVOIRS Habil Yarıyev Baku Higher Oil School, Baku, Azerbaijan habil.yariyev.std@bhos.edu.az Supervisor: Rashad Nazaraliyev Key words: “Enhanced Oil Recovery”, “Huff-N-Puff”, “

Reservoirs”
The fact that discovery of new hydrocarbon sources is a complicated
procedure, and that most oil fields possess between 60% and 70% of
unproducible hydrocarbons in place, triggers the development of novel
methods as regards Enhanced Oil Recovery. With only working on
conventional reservoirs, it may not be able to meet the world energy demand
as it is increasing with exponential rate. To meet demands, for low
permeability reservoirs it is famous to increase the efficiency by injection of
different substances into the well. (OWD, 2022)
The depletion of the volume of conventional reservoirs creates a chance
for unconventional reservoirs to come to the game. Upstream enterprises
and publications have reported a substantial drop in shale oil output,
indicating an urgent industrial demand for shale EOR. (Administration, 2022)
Their characteristics is different that it is possible to differentiate them.
In terms of their permeability, it is the most important element that has been
addressed and published in the oil business. Because hydrocarbons cannot
effectively flow across pore spaces at such permeability, oil recovery is
limited. As a result, enhanced oil recovery (EOR) technologies are
necessary. (Resources, 2022)
Gas Huff and Puff enhanced oil recovery (EOR) is quite beneficial
method as many laboratory studies and outdoor pilot testing have lately been
completed. The field reaction is always beyond analytical and reservoir
modelling projection, according to input from the Eagle Ford lean gas Huff
and Puff (HNP) pilot. However, in the later phase of the research the possible
application of the action in Azerbaijan, and its possible benefit for the industry
is going to be analyzed. (Mydland, 2022)
This research seeks to give an engineering workflow, using numerical
simulation, to analyze the feasibility of the HNP process for prospective
implementation, inspired by the success of the HNP process in various pilot
projects conducted in shales. Such as Eagle ford (USA), Bakken field (USA).
EOR technology of gas injection may be utilized to recover residual oil
in situ. Projects involving displacement gas injection may be done in well
