Septem ber 1st 1991 w ill becam e a landm ark in the history o f U zbekistan as day 
o f the republics independence. O n the 2nd o f M arch in 1992 the U nited N ations 
O rganization adopted a resolution on the adm ission o f the republic to it’s 
m em bership U zbekistan becam e a full m em ber o f the U N O . A fter becom ing an 
independent state U zbekistan w as recognized by 165 countries and diplom atic 
relations w ere established w ith m ore than 120 o f them . M ore than 43 countries o f the 
w orld have opened their em bassies in Tashkent. T he President o f U zbekistan visited 
m any countries in order to strengthen econom ic, cultural and security relations. 
D ifferent agreem ents w ith Turkey, C hina, India, Saudi A rabia, France and other 
countries have been signed. N o state can live w ithout foreign econom ic relations. 
U zbekistan m aintains foreign econom ic ties w ith m any countries in the w orld and 
p articipates in different international festivals, exhibitions and so on. M any industrial 
enterprises are trying to independently sell their products on the w orld m arket. Im port 
greatly exceeds export in foreign econom ic relations. U zbekistan has about 1000 jo in t 
ventures w ith G erm an, K orean, Japanese and m any m ore T urkish, Indian and French 
com panies. U zbekistan has trade relations w ith m any countries including the U SA , 
the U nited K ingdom , France, Japan, India Singapore, T hailand and Turkey.
