The aims of the lesson:
Educational: - to acquire knowledge about asking the place directions and how to reach out to destinations
Developing: - to enable pupils to say locations and asking for different types of doctors
Socio-cultural: - to raise awareness of different hospital jobs and medical treatments
Learning outcomes: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:
- recognise, say and explain how to go to destinations
- recognise different types of doctors and medical treatments
Type of the lesson: non-standard, mixed.
Method of the lesson: individual work, pair work.
Equipment: Workbooks, textbooks, computer, cards with letters.

Explanation of a new theme

(20 min)

-Ok pupils, today`s topic is “My granny worked at the hospital”.
Open the page 21 and look at the exercise 2a.
-Now, I`ll show you the postcards for this exercise.
Teacher shows the postcards where a man explains professions
-Now, let`s play. Stand up children and make a circle. I`ll throw a ball and say one name of sickness, for example – toothache. Then the pupil who catches the ball should answer like this: I have a toothache. You should go to dentist.
-Good job!
-Fly a kite.
-Well done!
-Please, take your seats and open the page 21. Today we`ll learn the letters professions and types of doctors.
-What kind of sickness do you know?
Teacher shows visual aids with more words starting with these names of sickness.
-Now, open your workbooks on page 20 and write down these letters.

Children are watching the video.

-Now, open your textbooks and look at the exercise 2c on page 21. It is another game. You should work in pairs.
Teacher points to pupils from the first desk and explains. One of you should show an action and the other should call the action.
