III. Main part
Activity 1. Sing the song.
• Say Open your books to page 61, please. This is a family. What’s this boy’s name? (Alex.) What’s he doing? (He’s listening to music.) Who’s this? ((I think) it’s his mom.)
What’s she doing? (She’s reading a book.)
• Say Listen and point. Play the recording. Students point to the different members of the family as they are mentioned in the song.
• Ask more questions to check understanding: What is Alex’s dad doing? (He’s making a cake.)
• Then say Sing the song. Play the recording again, until students are singing confidently.
• Students can sing along to the version of the song with words or to the karaoke version of the song.




Activity 2. Make sentences about the song and say who.
• Make a sentence about one person in the song: He enjoys listening to music. Students repeat the sentence and then guess who it is: Alex!
• Students take turns making sentences in pairs.





Activity 3 Ask and answer with your friend. Then tell another friend.

• Say What do you like doing at home? Ask your friend. In pairs, students ask Do you like … ? questions to find out the activities their partner likes doing at home. They use


the example dialog in the left-hand picture to help them. Students can write the questions down first or just ask and answer, according to the level of your class.
• Students then report to another partner or the class on what they have found out, using the third person: (Ellie) loves playing on the computer. They use the example in
the right-hand picture and the Remember! box to help them.



IV. Post-activity
Workbook Activity 1 Read and match.
• Students read the sentences and match them to the correct photographs of the boy’s family.
