Communicative area: Answer the question. Could you tell me what you can do better than….?
For example: I love sewing but everyone in my class thinks that it is strange.
Active vocabulary: More neatly, to train harder, top pupils, impossible same, possible, similar or
different, jack-of-all-trades, master of none
Exercise 1. Work in pairs. Write six more adverbs which can help you to describe the habits or
character. Share you examples and use the words from active vocabulary. Sample: I think it is
impossible to be good at all subjects at the same time. It must be very difficult to cope with it.
Grammar notes: Comparative and superlative adverbs
Adverbs are used to express how something is done.
For example: the dog sleeps quietly. We
use
comparative and superlative forms of
adverb with the help of suffix
– er, est. For
example: Comparison: one-syllable adverbs Comparative ending
hard – harder; Superlative
ending
hard-hardest.

more- more happily;
Superlative formed with
most- most happily;
Exercise 2. Reading. Read the text about “Is it possible to do a lot of things well?” and
complete the sentences with an appropriate form of the adverb or adjective in the text. Use the
words from the box.

I think it is impossible to be good at Maths, History, Geography and Art at the same time. It's
