2.6.8.1 Miracle of pious fathers of C.M Usthād
C.M Usthād was belonged to a spiritually rich family and his ancestors were engrossed in the service of community. Among his family, his father was also a great scholar and pious leader. It is said, that when C.M Usthād’s father was demised, the people searched a suitable mausoleum for him but when they dug there; they found a body remaining without any damage. In this crucial time they dug another grave adjacent to that, it was actually of his son, in this mausoleum also, they witnessed the body without any damage. Actually, these mausoleums were of fathers and grandfathers of C.M Usthad. Finally, they hollowed out another grave for C.M Usthād. Many people come here seeking blessings and barakath.87
2.7 IMPORTANT TEACHERS
2.7.1 UK Atakoya Thangal
C.M Usthād studied from different scholars. Among them, most influenced Ustahd was UK Attakoya Thangal. His fathker was Sayyid Hussain Koyamma Thangal who was born in Mangeswaram Udyavar and mother was Beekunchi Bebei. He was known as Kangagad Qāḍi. In 1995, he was selected as Kangagad Qāḍi. He served the society through out his valuable life. He was Qāḍi of Manjeshwaram, and Kottikulam, in 1955, he was appointed Kangangad Qāḍi, and he was married with Beekunchi Beevi daughter of Ullal Abudurahman Thangal. He was an expert one in Ilm-al mīqath, he invented new methods of prayer time finding and and made creative and innovative contributions to this field. He studied the method to find the prayer times by using logarithm.88 C.M Usthād also studied from him from nellikunu dars he prepared the the prayertime of Kannur, Kozikode, Eranakulam etc. This famous and pious scholar departed from this world on April -25-2007.
2.7.2 Avaran Musliyar
After the demise of Abdulla Hāji (the former Qāḍi of Kasaragod) Avaran Muliyār - Abdul Rahmān Musliyar- served as Qāḍiof Kasaragod. He continued in this field for 34 years. He was born and grown up in Velimukk in Malappuram. He got special guidance spiritual aids from his father. In addition, his main teachers were Kaipatta Beeran Kutti Musliyar and Koyappa Kunchamad Musliyar, who were the eminent scholars that time and he was gronw up under their guidences.
In 1944, he was selected, as Qāḍi of Kasaragod.He was an intellectual and brilliant scholar took a great role in maintaining the troubles and problems in the time of freedom movement.89 In 1978 June 16 (1398Rajab, 8) Friday this well-known scholar departed from this world, he breathed his last breath in Manippal Hospital in Mangalore. His graveyard (Kabr) situates in Velimukk.90
2.7.3 KK.AbūbakkerHazrat
He was born in Edvanakkad near Aluva as a son of Kunchi Muhammad and ʿāyisha in 1929 –Feb- 20. After he completed his study, he served at Kanthapuram Juma Masjid, Islāhul Ulūm Thanur, Vellore Bāqiyāth, Padanna, and Alathu Padi dars as a mudarris. In addition, he was principle in Pottichira Anwariyya College.
In1977 he was elected as the principle of Jamia Nooriya after the death of Kottumala Abūbakker Musliyar. In 3 -11-1957, he was selected as Mushavara Member, (council member of Samstha ).91 He was an active member of Vidyabhyasa Board (an alternative board for control the religious education among Muslim childern), run by samasth, and he was a member of Samastha Fatwa Committee (the community constituted to answer the religious and other questions of people according to the religious rules and criterion). He was skilled in writing field also; he translated surath al-noor, and wrote the commentary for Fathul Muīn called Fathul Mulhim. In 1995 Feb 5 (1415, Ramazān 6) he passed away.92 (May Allāh bless us with him)
2.8 NATURE AND CHARACTER OF C.M USTHĀD
C.M Usthd was really dedicated his life to the progress and development of the community. He never focused upon his interests against the interest of his community. It is the fact, that he was very keen and interested to receive donations from the people for the purpose of religious matters and development of colleges. He used to go abroad to receive donations from rich persons for the purpose of MIC and other Islamic colleges. Furthermore, in his last time also, he made hard work for his community. He was unruffled and he was manitaing all the complicated problems with easiness. Instead being angry to the people, he advised them with his peaceful and calm character like a father advice his children. When his enemies tried to disturb him, he remained calmly. He slept very less in night times and was awake full in daytimes. He was eager to solve the problems of people. He helped people economically, physically as he can. He was remaining calm and quiet rather than speaking more. He spoke whenever he needs, rest of his time he used for the development of MIC and before that Sa’diya College.
2.8.1 Man of excellent behavior
C.M Usthād is distinguished by his good behavior and he was the owner of well responsibility to his duties. There are many incidents occurred in the life of CM Usthād, they all implies to his sound and calm character. Sharef Karippodi writes in Satyadhara weekly C.M Usthād special and he says, “We the student of MIC were expressing our grieves and tensions to Usthād. Thus one day we went to dining hall to lunch then the some students were out of the dining hall .They were querreling with dining hall personnels in the matter of food related issues. Suddently, C.M Usthād came and many students escaped from that scene. Therefore, some brave students went to CM Usthād and said their problems. In this time CM Usthād went to inside of kitchen and took a spoon of curry and tasted it saying with a simple smile, “it is not worst as you thing so eat now let’s check next thus he simply managed the problems” thus CM Usthād altime keen to solve the problems of students like a father.
C.M Usthād was different from the contemporary scholars of his tiem in many issues. Although he had the worldly fascilites, he avoided it for the sake of Allāh. He lived in a small house even though he had facilities to make his house better one. However, he dedicated his life to the community and progress of educational activites. On the other hand, his symbol was loyalty and simplicity. Actions and worships were his main duties and there were nothing losing his identity and morality. We never find any sign of narcissistic in his life.
One of his pupils describes the experience he had in a marriage ceremony. One day the students of MIC went to a marriage nearby college, thus the children sat to eat food orderly one after one. In this time, CM Usthād came to that house and when the persons came to receive him he went and sat in a chair there. They invited them to inside but he refused with smiling that scholar said “I will sit here, and adjacent to him small children were eating. This was his simplicity and loyalty.”
