THE OATH OF THE VETERINARY SURGEON Receiving the diploma of the veterinary surgeon, solemnly I swear:
• to devote to health protection of the person and animals all knowledge and
forces, honesty to work there where it will be demanded by interests of a society;
• always to be ready to render the veterinary help to animals needing it;
• constantly to improve knowledge and the medical skill, received in the
higher school, the activity to promote development of a veterinary science and
practice;
• constantly to improve level of preventive and medical work, achieving
liquidation of illnesses of animals;
• qualitatively to fulfill medical duties, to be the active organizer of
veterinary business;
• to care of wildlife management, to bring up at surrounding the humane
relation to all live;
• indefatigably to propagandize veterinary knowledge and an advanced
experience among workers of animal industries, the meat, dairy and tanning
industry, the population;
• to protect and develop the richest traditions of domestic veterinary science,
always to be guided by universal principles and to remember high calling of the
veterinary surgeon, its responsibility before the people and the state.
