COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE METHODS OF BIOMASS AND COMBUSTION
OF SOLID WASTES UTILIZATION

Abstract: The article presents detailed information about the world reserves of traditional types of fuel,
including those available in Azerbaijan. The times of their complete exhaustion and possible
environmental consequences arising from their use are indicated. The prospects of obtaining liquid and
gaseous types of alternative fuels from biomass (BM) and combustible solid waste (CSW) by pyrolysis,
gasification and fermentation methods are shown as a way out of the situation. Special attention is paid to
the issues of utilization of the BM and the CSW and comparative analyzes of the existing methods of
their disposal are carried out.
