Abstract
: The following thesis discusses teaching English to non-philology
students and its differences from General English. First, we will introduce ESP and
its definitions given by various researchers and linguists, the history of development
and teaching methods. ESP, as its name implies, means the study of the terms and
concepts of a specific field. General English, in contrast, is the mastery of the entire
grammar and existing vocabulary of the language, covering various areas of life.
The emergence of the ESP method is related to the increase in the position of the
English language as a global language and the fact that it serves as the main source
of information. Below we will talk in detail about this method and its place in
education, reasons, techniques and tactics.
