8. Differential Diagnosis
Explain how it is possible to interpret the chief symptoms, syndromes or alternative diagnostic hypotheses differently. Students must demonstrate how the clinical information gathered by anamnesis, objective examination, the results of laboratory and instrumental examination disproves the alternative diagnostic hypotheses. There are two very important aspects in the differential diagnosis chapter: 1) comparison of probable alternative hypotheses concerning the clinical diagnosis (theoretical discussion based on medical literature) and 2) differential diagnostic aspects regarding the clinical features of the particular patient (concrete, patient-based differential diagnosis).
