different games will benefit students in different ways.One of the research findings is
that teaching language games is useful for English as a foreign language. Language
games can help students build a good relationship with the new language. Based on
these findings, the researcher recommended that curriculum designers should include
adequate language games within the curriculum.There are a number of reasons that
games deserve a place in the language classroom.First of all,they are fun which is
extremely important,because they can help activate learner who may have been
inactive before,due to lack of interest.Keeping learners active is vital because
teachers will never be able to actually teach learners anything unless they can get
them to participate in their own learning process.¹
English speaking skill development in tenth graders of a public high school in
Ambato, a city of the Andean Region of Ecuado additionally, a pre-test was used to
determine the students’ English level before implementing certain games selected
from a handbook created especially for this study. After that, a post-test and an exit
survey were used to measure the effects of communication games. It was found that
students consider using games in the classroom beneficial for their learning.
Likewise, it was evident that communication games contributed significantly to the
students’ oral production, which showed an increased level of vocabulary, more
accuracy and fluency, and a more relaxed interaction with their peers and their
teacher, after the intervention. ²
In conclusion,article maintained games provide one way of helping the learners
to experience language rather than merely study it. They give the teacher an
opportunity to create contexts in which the language is useful and meaningful.
