matter and nutrient contents are characterized as low. Planting several crops with three replication
(e.g. sorghum, pearl millet, legumes, perennial grass, bio-energy plants)was suggested by Institute of
Botany and ICBA as a way to reclaim the salt affected soil and improve the livestock feeding system,
and consequently the possible income of the farmers in this region. The plot size was 2x3 m, and
distance between the plots in two directions was 1.2 m and 2 m. The distance between the rows were
60 cm, depth of planting 1 cm, density of seedling as recommended by ICBA. Irrigation was
scheduled 400-600 m

/ha each 7-14 days. Measurements of morphological indices of crops
wereconductedfor each month of vegetation (Figure 1).
